The current catalog description is in the University’s Catalog.  A recent university catalog description follows:

Includes the concepts, methodologies, and techniques involved in information systems design and analysis. Presents an overview of information systems and the systems development life cycle for the systems analyst/manager. Course emphasis focuses on tools and techniques used to document information systems. Presents students with real-world system analysis skills and techniques within the framework of the systems development life cycle (SDLC). Examples and cases are drawn from actual systems projects that enable students to learn in the context of solving problems. (3 credit hours)

Prerequisites

Required: BUSA 3100 or ITEC 1201/2201 (Management Information Systems) ITEC 2120 (Introduction to Programming) MGMT 4600 (Operations Management)
Computer Competencies Required: This course requires basic knowledge of computers, email, and on-line research and the prerequisites. Specifically, the student is expected to have a working knowledge of using a web browser, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

Students should bring their own laptop and/or tablet device to each and every class.

Intended Audience

This is the capstone MIS course. All MIS students are required to take this course at the end of their MIS coursework. The class will simulate a consulting job and also a “real” consulting opportunity doing real analysis and design.
